Aftershave preparations are an important part of a proper shaving routine. Aftershave has a number of different properties which are extremely useful:
- Antiseptic: Aftershave cleans and disinfects any minute cuts you may have received while shaving.
- Astringent: Aftershave causes your skin on your neck and face to constrict which causes your pores to tighten and shrink.
- Cleaning: Aftershave removes any last traces of shaving cream residue that water alone may not have removed and leaves your face squeaky clean.
- Fragrance: The fragrance in aftershave makes you smell great and is quite subtle. You probably won't be able to smell the fragrance after one or two hours.
Tip: Aftershave scent dissipates in 1-2 hours. For a longer-lasting fragrance, use a complementary cologne as well.
